Percantik Kota Singkawang, Awang Ajak Pemilik Ruko Tanam Pohon di Pot

TRIBUNPONTIANAK.CO.ID, SINGKAWANG - Wali Kota Singkawang, Awang Ishak mengajak warga Singkawang untuk mempercantik kota. Satu di antara langkah yang bisa dilakukan adalah penghijauan di ruko untuk menanam pohon dalam pot.

“Kota Singkawang punya semua warga. Jangan menggunakan parit, bahu jalan untuk membangun ruko. Mari kita memperindah dan benahi kota yang kita cintai ini,“ kata Awang saat memberikan sambutan pada Gerakan penghijauan kawasan pertokoan, Rabu (8/10/2014).

Pada kesempatan itu, Wali Kota bersama Ketua PN IGAB Wijaya Adhi dan Kapolres juga melakukan penanaman pohon secara simbolis di dalam pot. Kegiatan dipusatkan di segitiga vihara Tri Dharma Pusat Kota. Tak hanya itu, di kegiatan gerakan penghijauan kawasan pertokoan juga dilakukan pengecatan secara simbolis ruko di seberang vihara.

Tambang di Kalimantan Barat Ambruk, Belasan Orang Tewas

Belum diketahui secara pasti jumlah korban yang terjebak dalam tambang ambruk tersebut.

Pejabat SAR hari Senin (6/10), mengatakan sekurangnya 18 orang tewas setelah terjebak di dalam tambang emas gelap yang ambruk di provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Upaya-upaya pencaharian korban yang selamat masih terus dilakukan.

Tambang itu ambruk Sabtu (4/10) sekitar pukul 11 pagi waktu setempat, namun petugas SAR baru dihubungi petang harinya. Tambang-tambang kecil yang tidak resmi kerap menjadi pusat konflik dan kecelakaan di Indonesia karena lokasi tambang-tambang tersebut terletak jauh di pelosok, di kawasan hutan yang sulit diatur pemerintah.

Kantor Berita Reuters melaporkan sebuah tim SAR yang mencapai lokasi itu hari Sabtu menemukan 18 mayat, 16 laki-laki dan dua perempuan. Didapati bahwa 15 korban sudah diketahui identitasnya.

Warga sekitar tidak mengetahui secara pasti berapa banyak penambang yang mungkin terjebak dalam tambang liar itu.
